Story

I'll be honest - taking photos of babies is HARD. The photos you see of babies laying all curled up nice and cute? They probably took three hours and are photoshopped and spliced together in all sorts of ways that you can barely imagine.

When my little sister was born around 3 years ago, I told my mom that I wanted to try practicing to get some of those beloved posed newborn shots. Cut to two hours of her screaming and not wanting to stay still and I knew that dream was over!

Now, whenever people ask me for newborn photos, I opt for a lifestyle session. Especially if the babe is older than a week old. And honestly, I LOVE them so much more!

I get to capture the intimate moments between dad and babe, or mom and babe, or even doggo and babe. I get to capture the connection and love for this new human. It's so refreshing and cool to capture raw moments inside of a person's home instead of worrying about getting the baby sleeping in the perfect position.

When Kaitlyn and John asked me to come in and take photos of their babe, Stormy, I couldn't say no. I was welcomed into their beautiful home and I had so much fun taking photos of the raw, intimate moments between them.
