The M Family
The M family had never taken family photos done before and looking at these finished photos, I would never believe it! They made it look so easy - which it is! We had such a blast at Van Bibber Open Space in Denver, Colorado - a beautiful little trail hidden in the city. The fall colors were definitely showing off, paired with the beautiful golden hour we got lucky with, this session was a dream!
When location scouting in places I’m unfamiliar with, Google Maps and Google Earth is my best friend! Luckily, Andrea had sent me some example photos that she took inspiration from, which included an open field and some trees. So using Google Maps, I scouted around the Denver area and found Van Bibber Park. It looked like it fit her criteria so we gave it a shot and I was so much more impressed with the park in real life than over Google Maps! The fall colors were hitting their peak and the golden sunlight reflected beautifully off of the long grass. I can’t wait to shoot here again!
When people tell me they have never taken family photos, I get so excited! They are coming into the session with no expectations and I get to shape the way they experience getting their photos taken.
A lot of people have bad memories of having their photos taken from when they were younger. Whether from school picture day or sitting in the J.C. Penney photography center sitting up straight, worrying about the perfect smile or sitting still enough. But photography has evolved so much since then. Now, it’s so much easier and fun to capture motion and laughing and genuine connection. No need to worry about sitting still or where your arm goes. I'll do all the work for you.
My goal is to make my clients feel comfortable and have fun! Being in front of the camera can be so stressful to a lot of people, so I like to start on easy prompts to get you and your family warmed up with me and my camera. We’ll definitely do some silly prompts to get your kiddos laughing and having fun!
